Barclays expands its trade offering with new appointment

Barclays continues to grow its Trade and Working Capital team and Financial Institutions (FI) business with the appointment of Jim Murphy as Director of FI Trade.

At Barclays, Murphy will be responsible for driving the cross-border FI trade business of the bank in Eastern Europe, Nordics, Turkey, Africa and the Americas. Based in London, Murphy will report to Shona Tatchell, Head of FI Trade.

Murphy joins Barclays from HSBC, London, where he was a Director in the Project & Export Finance team for eight years. He was responsible for the primary origination of trade finance assets in Central and Eastern Europe (including Turkey) and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to HSBC, Murphy was a part of the Structured Trade & Export Finance team at Deutsche Bank AG, London, originating FI trade finance assets and syndicated trade loans in Turkey and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
