Barclays has chosen the prestigious setting of this year’s Blair Castle International Horse Trials for the launch of its Female Client Group proposition in Scotland.

This unique offering – which supports women from all backgrounds and their families not only in managing personal wealth, but also in lifestyle and business needs – was launched at an exclusive lunch event held at Blair Castle International Horse Trials in Perthshire. The lunch was attended by over 100 guests, including Olympic silver medallist Nicola Wilson, a select group of female entrepreneurs and business owners, women of influence and other high-profile figures from the equestrian world.

The annual equestrian event, which is sponsored by Barclays, is widely regarded as one of the world’s leading international eventing fixtures. This year’s competition carried an extra air of excitement, as it was the first event of its kind to be attended by competitors following the London 2012 Games, and saw a number of Olympic medallists taking part. This year’s event was attended by a number of the Barclays team including Mark Little, Ally Scott, Craig Jamieson, John Godfrey and Barbara-Ann King, representing the Wealth and Investment Management businesses in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London.

The Barclays Female Client Group programme has been developed by Barbara-Ann King, who is closely involved with and passionate about the development of women in the economy. Addressed to women and their families, this Barclays offering supports female clients’ needs through an inclusive approach, involving financial education, as well as unique networking opportunities.

Barbara-Ann King, Barclays, who presented the prizes in the CCI3* competition said: “We are thrilled to launch our Female Client Group offering in Scotland, and the Blair Castle International Horse Trials provided a perfect fit for this special occasion. The equestrian world has had an incredibly exciting past couple of weeks, and with a number of female riders taking home the gold for Team GB, it is especially fitting that we were able to recognise their achievements and celebrate the launch of this programme together.”

The Blair Castle International Horse Trials in Perthshire, which ran over four days and ended on Sunday 26 August, saw in excess of 45,000 visitors from around the UK and overseas attend. The event comprised of four International event classes, whilst British Show jumping and showing classes provided the perfect platform for riders in other disciplines to compete on the renowned grounds.
