Barclays appoints Head of Professional Services

Barclays today announces the appointment of Tom Wood as Head of Professional Services.

In this role, Tom will succeed Jane Galvin, taking overarching responsibility for the industry. His remit will ensure Barclays continues to grow and consolidate relationships with professional services clients of all sizes, ranging from mid-sized regional or niche practices, to large international firms.

Tom has an impressive track record with Barclays, joining in 2007 as a Relationship Director, managing some of the largest accountancy, legal and property consulting clients.

Prior to his new role, Tom spent three and a half years as Corporate Director and Deputy Head of the Professional Services team, a role which included leading the mid-market proposition for Barclays in the sector. Before joining Barclays, Tom worked for the RBS group in a range of client-facing relationship roles.

The news of Tom Wood’s appointment follows on from the recent appointment of Jane Galvin, the former Head of Professional Services, as Head of Greater London Mid-Corporates. Jane’s focus will be on driving strong growth out of each of the London Mid-Corporate teams through employing a single, consistent approach to market.
