Beating competition from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Standard Chartered, Barclaycard won the accolade for its Barclaycard Spend Management platform, which is designed to support businesses with card management, expense management and reporting. It simplifies corporate payments across international borders and currencies, providing an exhaustive view of spend to help unlock hidden costs, manage risk and more accurate budgeting.
Almost a year to the day since the online platform’s launch, Dennis Bauer, Managing Director of Global Commercial Payments, said:
“This award is an acknowledgement of our investment in, and commitment to, providing innovative solutions to help businesses make and manage payments easily. Barclaycard Spend Management was developed in response to the drive by businesses to reduce operational costs in the face of tough trading conditions. But it’s also about delivering process efficiency; we envisage a future where payments across even the largest organisations are managed in one place, by one system.”
The annual Banking Technology Awards ceremony attracts some of the biggest names in banking and financial services and was this year attended by over 300 senior banking and financial technology executives from across the industry.
