Barclays today announced a raft of appointments to its Corporate & Employer Solutions (C&ES) business, the division established to support employers of all sizes by helping them manage the risks and 'release the potential' within their most important asset - their people.

Anish Rav, David Pascoe, Mark Ramsook and Simon Pickerill all join the Employee Benefit Consulting team within Barclays C&ES as Employee Benefit Consultants. Their remit involves advising larger businesses on the development of their benefits strategy to ensure it aligns with business strategy and serves to attract, engage and retain talented employees.

The quartet bring significant collective experience in this field. Anish Rav has over 15 years’ experience in employee benefits consulting and joins from Hymans Robertson LLP following six years spent providing consultancy to an impressive range of blue chip corporate and trustee clients. Anish will be based in London.

David Pascoe joins from Gallagher Employee Benefits where he worked for over 20 years, providing advice to companies and trustees on pensions and employee benefits. David will also be based in London along with Mark Ramsook who joins from Mercer Consulting and has experience advising companies on employee and flexible benefits arrangements.

Simon Pickerill will be based in Manchester where he joins from Alexander Forbes having spent the past seven years advising some of the firm’s largest clients.

The appointments follow recent news that Barclays C&ES has added Corporate Wealth Advisors James Wood and Liam Fearon to the team, as it continues to build its capabilities to meet the employee benefit, corporate protection and rewards and incentive needs of its entrepreneur, SME and larger corporate clients.

Anish, David, Mark and Simon will report to Paul Wilson, Head of Employee Benefit Consulting at Barclays C&ES.

Commenting on the appointments, Paul Wilson said: “In an era of successive governments increasing the rhetoric about the need for individuals to save more for their future, companies play a crucial role in helping their employees achieve this. At the same time, employers are facing the challenge of meeting requirements of pension reform whilst dealing with an increasingly diverse workforce and its differing needs. Barclays, through its C&ES division is well placed to advise employers on meeting these various challenges.

“Anish, David, Mark and Simon all share our vision to serve our clients and are hungry to drive change, helping us shape our business in response to this evolving benefits landscape.”

Richard Phelps, Head of Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions comments: “Our ability to attract extremely talented and respected individuals in the field of employee benefit consulting is testament to the extent of the opportunity we have at Barclays C&ES. Our goal was to build a team comprising the brightest talent in the market that we felt would be industry leaders in the future and could help shape and drive our proposition today – these appointments confirm we’ve done just that.”
