50 new marketers required to drive forward Barclaycard innovation programme

Barclaycard has announced that it is looking to recruit up to 50 marketers in the next few months.  The roles are being created as Barclaycard seeks to strengthen its position as a leading payment provider.  

The new roles encompass a broad range of marketing disciplines in the Barclaycard UK business. Their focus will be on delivering best in class marketing for Barclaycard’s customers in the UK as well as the launch of a new loyalty programme.  When it is launched next year, the loyalty programme will give Barclaycard’s eleven million customers immediate rewards in many of the 89,000 retailers for whom Barclaycard processes card payments.

Barclaycard is one of the leading payment organisations in the UK and is recognised as the leading innovator in that sector with products ranging from contactless payments available on over four million cards and accepted in nearly 10,000 outlets across the UK.  Barclaycard has also recently launched mybarclaycard, a marketing leading online account management system.  Other initiatives being tested include mobile contactless payments, which are all part of Barclaycard’s promise to customers to make payments simple and easy to make.

The new roles are likely to be split equally between Barclaycard’s London offices in Canary Wharf and Northampton where the company is based.
